Visitors to London – and residents who have failed to keep up with how cool Spitalfields and Brick Lane now are – can take a self-guided tour of the Jewish East End with the latest audiowalk from Soundmap. Brick Lane is brought to life through narrator Tarquin Hall, author of Salaam Brick Lane: A Year in The New East End, which focuses on the huge cultural influence of Jewish and Bangladeshi immigrants. Soundmap has produced five other walks in the capital – including King’s Road and Soho. Audiowalks can be downloaded on to an MP3 player and cost £5.99 each (www.soundmap.co.uk)
