Alex Wheatle is the acclaimed author of "Brixton Rock" and "East of Acre Lane". Born to Jamaican parents he spent his formative years absorbing everything Brixton had to offer from reggae music to live poetry. He organises and holds workshops in prisons and young adult institutions.  His latest novel is "The Dirty South" and "Brixton Rock" is currently being adapted as a film.
